As far as build quality, when there model y and 3 came out in 2020 build quality was sorta bad. Panel gaps , interior of the car felt a little cheap for the price point.

They've definitely improved the build quality of the cars since then.

Another thing people couldn't did not like was the suspension and cabin noise. You could feel every bump on the road and for that price point it should be better.

The model 3 just had a refresh 5 months ago that improved the suspension significantly and doubled panel the windows, and added a latch to the door to improve the drive quality and cabin noise.

Model y refresh is coming mid 2025 and I'll be getting one srs.

As far as the driving experience the model 3 is fun as hell to drive especially the performance model. It dusts like 99% Cars on the road and they handle like a go cart.
I’m gonna wait for that model y refresh then srs was dusting joggers in chargers and mustangs with that thing some rs3 wanted the smoke too and he got left
Behind. You don’t have that top end speed but weaving through traffic and short runs are goat in that thing

Unload my corvette and grab that instead ain’t nothing to put a 220line in

Most that hate on it have never actually driven one im sure.

As far as the AC is concerned.....i believe that heat pump is trying to be too smart. If you want cold....i set my temp to "LO" and just adjust the fan as needed. I dont try to set a temp

My brother in law has a plaid and it is stupid fast. 0-60 is one area I will give Tesla absolute credit.

Other than that, they never really impressed me. Interior is nice, not amazing. Exterior is meh, not bad or great. Range anxiety is a real thing on longer trips, which for most people isn't an issue 90%+ of the time.

Personally, I am not a fan of the giant screen, but that is a direction most companies are going. Some of the gimmicks and features are kinda childish IMO, designed to look cool on paper, but not practical. Other car companies do too much of that as well and I don't appreciate it adds to cost.

Overall, I am not a fan personally, but I don't hate on them either. I have more of a sports car driver oriented preference and they just seem sort of soulless to me.

Overpriced.
The Range SOUNDS decent but only if you pay extra for it, and it degrades over time.
If anything breaks down you gotta pay lots of $$$ and potentially wait weeks/months for the proprietary parts.

Outside of the above, I like it, always jelly of the camera systems. But would rather get a modern hybrid. I'm all eyes and ears on the 2025 Camry for this reason. ~50 MPG with a 13 gallon tank = 650 miles range. Way cheaper too, both in terms of MSRP, and costs to repair if needed.

Because there is no difference between a Tesla and a Washing machine? Both are appliances.

I'm not sure why people constantly bring up acceleration as if that's the only determining factor that makes a car fun.

Well it’s big part of what makes a car fun

If your car doesn’t throw you into the seat what’s the point not to mention you can fit 5 comfortable in these things

It's an appliance made to make your life as easy and convenient as possible. Nothing more, nothing less.

Typical Teslacel arguments are comfort and self driving. That in itself tells you why Tesla gets hate.

I find it odd when people feel strongly about them in either direction. Most of the haters are just being petty about Musk. The ones who have sensible criticism point out aspects of electric vehicles that are inferior to gas engines.

Nah man, I like the way V6, V8, and V10 engines sound. I like the sound of down shifting and upshifting gears. I like the backfires.

I think it became political because of Biden trying to force EVs down our throats.

I lean right and I'm impressed with them; considered buying one, but I do road trips, and fuk that charging. I'd have to charge more times than I fill up too, and it'd probably easily add 90 minutes to an 8 hour road trip.

People talk about the build quality a lot, but there seems to be plenty of ownership satisfaction with them. I don't know anyone that has had one over a long period of time yet, however.

I rode in my friends model 3 the other day. Just crazy how fast it is. Ride quality was good too.

Only self driving feature I used was the self backing up which is one of the best out there. Parked it, automatically put it in park, seat goes back. Such a simple process

Uhh yeah you do lol? 272 miles range is $39k, longer range starts at $42.5k. For Model 3.

They seem like pretty cool cars and i=they are probably fun to drive.

if you can charge at home it would be pretty good.

The thing most us us dont like about them is the politics attached to them. The force feeding of the agenda and all that.

if they could just make them and let the market decide if they like them or not it would be far better than ramming them down out throats.

That and the repair issue stuff. Seems that every single person who buys one has to take iot in for warranty stuff quite frequently and its not easy stuff thats just like an hour but a leave it for a week type stuff.

The used cars prices and usefulness is also abysmal. You would have to be a certified lunatic to but a 10 year old 100k one. That's just begging for a loss. Even if you got a used high model one free it might not be worth it.

Don't matter, the main argument points from Teslacels is comfort and self driving. EV are appliances.

Tesla chargers aren’t even badly priced and they are quick af

Parked it and went to poop and what not and came back to the car ready to go with a fairly decent charge for like $12

I've noticed Biden/ the Democrats, mandate that only EVs can be sold, a few years from now, has many people concerned and upset.

I think many people liked Teslas but want to have a choice in whether to be able to buy a new ICE vehicle, which tend to cost less and are more reliable or an EV vehicle.

Saw this the other day ~

"Dealerships Are Getting Excited About How Quickly Electric Vehicles Break Down"

https://dailycaller.com/2024/07/12/d...es-break-down/

Car dealerships could win big in the Biden administration’s push for electric vehicles (EV) due to their greater need for repairs and short lifespans, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday.....

Yet another point on why it's an appliance.

IF you want to be lazy, convivence, and comfort, get a Tesla. But when it comes to enjoyment, it's soulless.
