I don't even have a dog in this fight but of the top of my head:

- You don't ever actually own a Tesla. It sends data back to the hive mind to build a training dataset and you get involuntary firmware updates which can lock you out of your car
- If your car breaks (often given the quality issues) they won't sell you many parts and even if you did want to take it in the azz from a dealer (no one else can work on it - computer says no), there are hardly any around
- Elon asked for lots of money for 'full self driving' many years ago, many many claims it is just a year away but still a decade off at best all this time later
- Tesla 'structural battery pack'. If you don't know how bad an idea this is for an owner, I don't know what to tell you
- Tesla only lived because Elon went full psycho to get the production rate up to the point where they were building them in a car parks, in tents and people were sleeping under desks. I'm sure the quality didn't slide though...
- Elon is a smart guy but talks all kinds of stupid chit on X, lefties don't want to be associated
- Massive depreciation
- Cybertruck where washing it with water is a problem lmao

They're the new prius' of the road, either driving unreasonably fast and dangerously, or driving way too slow because the driver is a lazy kunt who puts it on autopilot so they can eat/jerk off/send emails/do anything you shouldn't be doing while piloting a several ton vehicle on a public road

It's doubly annoying as a motorcycle rider who routinely gets nearly missed by Tesla drivers who think their electronics are foolproof and don't check blindspots when merging/changing lanesyou and I both know that ain't even close to the same thing amigo

Im not a buyer just yet, even at the low APR. couple of reasons we just leased.
1. the refresh you mentioned might come in a year or 2 and we can just hop on the new one at the end of lease no compromise or losing value due to model refresh.

2. I think battery technology will leap in a few years so don’t want be caught with “old tech” loan.

3. It’s 200 dollars cheaper to lease the Tesla than our Acura MDX technology. That’s 200 before adding fuel.
It’s a no brainer

For the family we always keep a new car, no questions asked reliable.

Been driving one recently and was surprised to find it pretty enjoyable. Fun car to drive but I would never buy one as my sole car.

Ideally I would have a Tesla to commute to work and then a normal gas truck/jeep to play around with on the weekends/roadtrips.
