Companies are reporting good earnings but valuations are always forward-looking and seems people are expecting things to get worse.

Tesla didn’t beat expectations though, $0.52 per share vs $0.62 expected and that was with a huge surge in regulatory credit revenue (but offset by higher restructuring costs).

Tesla’s valuation hinges entirely on stuff like Robotaxi though. If you don’t believe Tesla will hit a home run with Robotaxi, it would be wise to follow Elon’s recommendation and not invest.

I think Robotaxi will turn out to be a big flop in terms of earnings along with a lot of the AI spending, it’s looking more and more like many billions spent for very little ROI until who knows when.

Tesla and Google missed estimates. Flashing red lights of consumer slowing down are getting brighter.

Not very but I’ve missed the bigger parts of the rally in tech. Cover my TLT $95 CCs and swapping back to $90 CSP. Sold 2 9/20/24 $90 CSP for $1.34

Seems like free money when we know yields won’t be rising as economy slows and fed is getting closer to dropping rates. Like always if I get buried on it I’ll take assignment or maybe roll. Still holding my shares even though that was probably a mistake. Ill have to recalculate what I’ve earned on those shares between market gain, interest earned, and CC premiums.

I have a Webull portfolio, I was under the impression they give 5%, and then if you use their card, then you get another 3%, which I guess adds up to eight lol

I was pretty flat. I sold 18 more Kr $60 calls today down from peak of 42 options to 18. Average price was $40 and I think average sale was $70 or so. Pretty happy with that averaging down did wonders for that trade. I started buying at like $1.20 I think lmao. Last buys were at $25 I think. 17 $55c I’ve got average price of $80 are around $2.20 now. I think my plan is to keep selling the $60c and buy longer dated to replace them. I might also do some poor Man’s covered calls and sell some $60 CCs against my $55C and hope by October the shares sit around $59 or $60. Helps cover the theta burn regardless.

@Abuzu I know you didn’t enjoy my use of a Yellowstone quote, but really just the first chance I’ve had to use it since I watched that episode lmao.

Yea, what's going on?

Is this a "thanks for the discount, Ill just scoop up some more shares" drop..........or is it a "buckle up buttercup, we finna have a hard reset" drop?

A months worth of gains was lost out in 2 days.

That's the trillion dollar question.

Nearly every company is missing earnings. Unless p/e multiples expand (due to hopes of lower rates, primarily), prices will be pushed down.

The market will likely come down as rate cuts arrive to stimulate back up a struggling economy but that operate with long and variable lags, Canada has two 0.25 rate cuts under its belt now.

Scope out my stonk-funded basement in progress brahs, beams were just stained yesterday (fuark)

Well it's bounced back a little. I have a hard time believing we'll have a huge drop. There's a lot of liquidity out there.

The US market seems to be pricing in both great economic performance and also optimism around rate cuts, 6-7 rate cuts over the next 12 months

Almost certainly not gonna happen
