You obviously don't live in CA, where if you set your AC to less than 76, you will be charged $1000 a month/10

West Texas brah checking in

I have my t-stat set to 75 during the day, 73 when I get home. I still spend $150-160 in the summer. I can't imagine what your bill is.

Busy af, lol.

Let me ask you this op. Have you had any issues with your thermostat crapping out? I have been using nest for a while now and they have some controversy now with the nest just going offline and dying. Not a c-wire issue, it just dies and google/nest takes you through a bunch of unnecessary rigmarole instead of owning up to the battery is faulty. They’re avoiding replacing the battery in these devices because it will cost them millions.

What pisses me off is they know of this issue and will have you spend even more money calling out an hvac company out to troubleshoot because they’re customer service couldn’t do chit.

Anyways I ordered a battery off Amazon for both my units and replaced them now it works just fine. The battery costs $18

I have both mine drop to 50 at 6pm and back to 70 at 5am, lol.

BRB spend hundreds of dollars for a simple on/off switch
BRB allow BigData into your home to spy
BRB BigData can shut down your entire house if they don't like your political thoughts
BRB keep you from using the house if someone THINKS your AI doorbell says something they didn't like.
BRB fuk that. Your HVAC doesn't need fukking internet.

I know it’s not even close to Texas summers, but here on Long Island it still gets high 80’s to mid 90’s and humid as fuk, but I keep mine 72-74 degrees

I'd rather pay the premium than be blocked from setting it lower tan 76 like the AC units in Texas.

So it'll run full time at those periods.

My Bluetooth thermometer in the bedroom does get into the 50s at night. When the house never gets warm you can get it pretty damn cold.

I'll be honest man. I know HVAC techs all say Nest are garbage, and I know tons of people who have had issues. But we've had ours for 3 years and absolutely zero complaints.

Das it mane on the 50 degrees at night.

It's honestly not as bad as you think. Ours was about $600 last month. When we lived in CA, we'd have a bigger bill than that to keep the house at 70. lol
