Fried chicken and watermelon are southern delicacies. Theyve been popular in the south since the day the white man first set foot there. Any back-in-the-day southerner was raised on fried chicken and watermelon.
After Post-War Reconstruction when blacks started streaming into the northern states to take factory jobs, they were met by fresh off the boat european immigrants whod never seen a black person and knew nothing of the american south. When they observed blacks eating customary southern cuisine, they assumed it was a *black* thing, not a *southern* thing.
But actually southern whites have as much ancestral connection to those foods as blacks. And why not? Theyre delicious. People just dont know history and continue to misunderstand such things.

One workplace I was at I would eat an entire small watermelon for lunch, would piss like a gallon after about an hour, would literally hurt my kidneys.
