I use the honda hrx 217, has a 190cc engine, no issues. lol @ electric cope cells, *******s.

Battery powered mowers are garbage . My neighbor bought one and just hates it . What people don’t realize is the air vector underneath is not close to as powerful , and after my neighbor is done there’s Mohawks all over the place where the wheels pushed it down and the mower was not providing enough suction to lift it on the next pass.
Also when the bag is half full the lawn more tips downwards . He phoned tech support and they recommended holding it by the handles to provide support lol .
It’s funny as all the reviews never talk about the most annoying problems like this, just run time and chit .
Gas mower only crew , but electric whipper snippers are goat .

I've heard the lawnmowers around here saying they dislike the electric yard machines, leaf blowers, mowers, etc. They are not as good as the gas powered ones they say.

Ya I have no issues with 120v version . It’s the battery ones that are trash . They don’t have enough power to create the proper air vectors underneath

Just lmao at the EPA (and the ultra-fascistic California CARB board). I'd love to see some PIG cop come to my property and try to arrest me for using whatever the fly*ng f*ck equipment I want on my own property. SCOTUSES overruling of Chevron should make it a lot harder for them to implement such absolute fascistic bs, because they can't invoke the fraudulent "you're polluting across state lines!" bullsh*t.

Most equipment I own is before the EPA even started leaning the sh*t out of carburetors, and is natively operating at the equivalent to modifying a new carb at a dealer that would invoke an insane $27,000.00 fine if they found out a dealer used an "evil carb adjusting tool". All of these pieces of sh*t deserve life in prison in solitary confinement who come up with these meaningless edicts when one volcano eruption pollutes the Earth more than hundreds of years of human activity.

It wouldn't be a problem with a gas powered mower.

As for the OP, Greenworks is for light yard work. If you're mowing infrequently and dealing with taller grass,you need something more heavy duty. My dad (who was heavily against going electric) eventually caved and bought a Stihl electric mower and it cuts through Saint Augustine (a notoriously thick and heavy grass) like butter.

Its also super quiet so if your neighborhood has a noise ordinance then you can work even before 8am

He's also probably mowing the grass when its wet (heavy) not taking "half bites." If you're only mowing once per month you can't just shove the mower in the thicket

Iv had my petro Honda mower for like 10 years and it still starts up every time, never even done any oil changes or spark plug change outs, I once had to adjust the carburetor but that’s bout it. Probably would of went through 3-4 electric mowers in that time period.

Work with things that heavily vibrates your hand hard and long enough and it will fk up your hands.

Lifting a bunch of heavy stuff with the wrong form accidentally once in a while can also fk up your back to where you won’t be able to walk right for a few weeks.

Don’t take work ergonomics lightly cus that chit will catch up to you

I don't have any of these issues, but then again most people don't go to the lengths that I do to ensure things run properly.

1) Only gas I use is VP Racing C9. $122.00 for a 5 gal jug. I don't use all that much fuel as I'm not doing anything commercially. Pump gas has sh*t Reed Vapor Pressure per EPA mandates--this means a lot less volatility / starting ability for small engines. VP C9 wipes the floor with pump gas in this regard.

2) Ethanol itself has greatly contributed to the problems you describe, and IMO, was introduced in parton purposeto ruin people's small engines over time.

3) Even non-ethanol pump gas is garbage compared to VP (or Alkylate gas like Aspen available in the EU--as well as the currently scarcely available unleaded AVGAS replacement by SWIFT fuels) because it has worthless so-called "clean air additives", and high olefin content--which turns into varnish and clogs carbs.

right tool for the right job


Milwaukee has one of the best or the best electric mowers. Outpowers a 6hp B&S gas by a huge huge longshot. Side by side test B&S craps out at about 30' cutting 6" grass. Milwaukee did not stop in the test.

BUT it cost $1200

If you're only cutting it once a month, just hire someone else to do it.

You are the exception, not the norm. I would only buy that stuff if I had a lawn care business and needed my equipment in tip top shape 24/7. But if i'm just using it for personal use on a lawn with no time table in which it needs to be cut, regular gas from the gas station is fine.

and because I don't feel like spending a mint on fuel for a piece of lawn equipment I find it much easier to just buy and EV Mower to cut out all those extra expenses.

Damn, I didn't even know that law passed.

A quick google search says you can still use to gas powered mowers but you won't be able to buy them new from the hardware store. I guess the mowers my dad and I have will be highly sought after. in the coming years.

Cordless, so its just a battery pack that you can attach and detach at a docking station to recharge.
