Just got smoked by an f150 lightning

Believe the marketing for this truck. It’s lighting quick for a truck. My sedan is one of the more quick everyday car but it still got smoked.

Couldn’t believe it because I generally smoke the trucks because they’re so heavy

But his car wuz a 60-70k car. Mines only 24k lmaoo

Yeah all EVs can have crazy acceleration pretty easily, I think a Rivian will beat most lambos off the line

I knew they are quick but not that quick. A truck is a super heavy car. He was ahead of me by a good 10-15ft.

He must’ve lost a good 20 miles on that pull.

It’s very quick because it’s only 3200lbs with 200hp.

Good luck finding something with that kind of power to weight ratio that looks as good as well

My car is approx 3900lbs with 330bhp with 495 lb/ft torque. Looks nice too.

100lbs is a lot of weight

And my car is only 23k when it was new in 2015

around 200 ish pounds of torque. That's pretty good for the cost.

I've been trying to find ways to shed more weight without losing its daily driving capabilitees

Yeah its not even close to what mine is pumping out. BHP per tonne on mine is 186.5, yours is 137.8 with less than half the torque. I'd eat and chit you out for breakfast.

I'd just look at a new car if you're really looking for power instead of trying to strip weight off a 200 bhp car lol. Maybe look at remapping it for a boost.

EV trucks are even heavier with the massive batteries, but that also helps put the power down rather than tire spinning like you see with lighter high hp/torque cars

Probably lost 100 miles off his tires

If I do a few cheap modifications we'd be even and I wouldn't be out 40k. Keep in mind my car is a sedan with a 4 cylinder, not a 2 door with a V6/V8. And it was only 23k new.

My car is actually quite impressive because it works with tighter constraints.

100# makes a 0.1 second difference in a 1/4" mile.

200ft/lbs is nothing these days, but was ok back in 2015. If you are trying to race people, you really need a different vehicle. Just enjoy cruising, so you don't have to buy tires that you can't afford.

Sedans arn't really good cars to be racing people with but doing what it does as a daily driver, its pretty good.

The Miata is 2400lb. Two doors and tiny AF with 150lbft torque. You literally barely have any room in the car to stow daily things and it doesn't look as good as a sedan. There's also crash safety concerns because its so small there's no cushioning length.

Max torque at 0rpm and AWD, what did you expect? EVs are very hard to beat off the line.

You must not know much about the automotive and street racing scene. You can buy stock factory trucks with 700hp - 800hp now. And if you go the mod route, anything can be made fast. It's pretty easy to make 500hp - 700hp these days which is still considered slow.

Texas has pickup trucks running 10 seconds in the quarter mile. 1000hp is the new territory to be fast.

A 3200lb car with 200hp isn't very quick. For comparison a Toyota GR86 is 2800lbs with 228hp and only hits the 1/4 mile 14 seconds. There's plenty of stock trucks that can beat you.

You ain't quick till you hit 12s IMO

I always thought pickup trucks (even ICE ones) would be pretty fast off the line due to their high torque.

Bruh, if it has 700hp, its going to be a 70k+ car. My car is 23k, stock.

No because of the weight. Torque has to work against the weight of the car.

Yeah you don't know what you're talking about. You don't need to spend $70k to get 700hp.

You can buy a relatively new F150 for about $40k and slap on a supercharger for a total of $55k.
