A LOT riding on that jobs number tomorrow... if it's really bad the fears the economy are bad might overtake joy that rates will come down faster and we get a selloff. If the number is good that might stoke fears rates won't come down as fast and the economy will deteriorate slower but more before we get rate cuts. Either way it seems primed to disappoint the market, particularly after these earnings misses...

Finally an opportunity to buy a tiny little bit of something, nibbled on a bit of bitcoin right before close, googl, amd, Tesla, would love to get some Amazon, but would never dare touch it prior to earnings, will get some when I see some reversal indication.

but it’s not about looking for a stock or ETF that does some silly market timing or bear porn trickery, it’s about using these rare opportunities to buy the stuff that will double triple and 10x in the next few years.

I picked the worst time to buy SOXL.. 50 shares @ $57 then I thought I was slick averaging down another 50 shares at $49. might have to make another buy @ $30

if you don’t want volatility, you can’t be all in pltr and sofi and little crap like that, you gotta have some S&P 500 and cash, or at least, some big boring tech names that just keep going up forever,
but volatility is interesting, people who bought bitcoin at two dollars and held for 10 years to become Billionaires had to wake up being 90% down, imagine waking up to pee at night and checking your phone to see that you’re down $5 million, it’s not for everybody. Holding options on MSTR is pretty funny, one day you are a millionaire the next day you’re not gay but $20 is $20, got to sell some ass, next week you’re a millionaire again, etc.

Switched to a final Great Depression in 1 day because of a baby rate hike in Japan. Prices still above my entries so will get out at breakeven at worst. VIX is looking tippy though and local bottoms happen at this level with the high volume we’re seeing

I started getting into it around 10.75 early in May (can't remember exactly the level/when) and it dropped as low as 7.17, definitely had be clinching my butt a bit, but I just kept buying it as it dropped, so my CWA now is 8 and change, and it currently sits at 9.80.Is there a stock or index fund you can get into that shorts or sells puts that makes money during a recession? Did any stock escape the 2021 crash?
While I do see the Nasdaq dropping below 15,000, staying in SQQQ becomes too risky at some point as a snapback rally could really wipe me out with no hope of recovering my losses, so I'll trim some position in it taking some profit and deploy money to a safer short-position asset.
All I hold right now is SQQQ, NKE, and XOM, with about 40% in cash plus whatever my 401k is doing.
I'd like to see the Russell2000 pull back to 2000 at which point I'll enter long there.
