Thinking to sell at a loss and use the proceeds to buy the same calls two weeks out. Earnings next Monday..

You don't have to go out far in time to turn a day trade into a swing trade.
I just made 500% from one of my BROS options expiring 8/16.

Also, sometimes depending on many things sometimes it’s safer and easier to deal with shares rather than options, I have done both, but for this trade, I was willing to risk one percent in order to make anywhere between two and 10%, it would be pretty hard to do that with options as they can swing pretty violently very quickly, even when I do a 10% stop loss on options often it takes you out, my option trading bot sets stop loss at 30%, I really wasn’t in the mood for that today lol. Sometimes I would mess around with micro strategy options pre-split, you can be up or down thousands of dollars in a matter of seconds, I didn’t feel like getting a heart attack this morning.

Like I was saying a page ago, bearporn always lose, bulls always win assuming you don’t invest in Penny Stock or zombie companies.
No matter how bad a crash, there will always be dip buyers.
Y’all are crazy to buy puts on pltr, I’m not buying here at the top, but yoll completely insane to short a company that may very well be the next Microsoft, what are you gonna do with your put if Pltr decides to go into price discovery And casually shoot up to $40? Are you going to sell your ass on the corner? Idk good luck tho I hope you kill it.

Finally sold my position on DOCS. Sold it at a loss in order to offset my gains elsewhere, still positive YTD. Feels good as fuk to free up some of my margin and have one less bag to worry about.

Question for you guys with dividend stocks.
Let's say you buy a stock for $100 then after a year you receive $50 in dividends. Those dividends are taxed at 25%, so your net gain is $37.50 from dividends.
Stock drops to $75. Let's say you want to sell the stock just to get back your initial investment. You sell at $75 and take a $25 loss on the stock.
Since your gain from dividends was $37.50, and you receive $75 cash after selling the stock, you come out of this trade with $112.50 and also a $25 capital loss that you can use to offset gains elsewhere.
What am I missing?

The way you have things set up is not bad if my read is right but I would drop the stop losses once you gain more confidence.
I feel you on the heart attacks lol so if you are up a lot already then take profit even if you think you might make more.
I just hit a day trade on CMG by accident.
I left a limit order out from my last set of trades on it and I forgot to close them after CMG started running.
CMG collapses this morning and my 9/20 50C gets filled, I didn't even know it got filed until I checked my trades tab looking for something else, I got in for ~2.20 and just got out for ~3.70 lol

Nice pop, sold a small part of my spot bitcoin for a reasonable profit to get my holdings to 10% cash, just in case…
I hate not having cash when there is a dip buying opportunity. And you never know when these opportunities come about, everyone is suddenly Nostradamus in retrospect having predicted the Japanese carry trade, it would be nice if they told us this the day before lol

Unbelievable that the leveraged retards are still jumping into bitcoin after getting raped repeatedly, even after getting obliterated a few hours ago there are already so many leverage longs with $57,000 bitcoin price liquidation, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the big boys decide to go after them again!
Part of me thinks that bitcoin is just not going to go up at all until everyone gives up and leverage retards lose all of their money and go away, and I can’t blame the market makers, I wouldn’t want to invest in something that I know some short term ******* is going to sell at the local top next week and dump it on my head.

Also cuz this made me remember. You said you risk 1% and sell at 2% profit. So does that mean if you had a $100,000 account your position size is $1,000 and you sell if it hits $1,020? I wasn’t sure if that’s what you meant.

The way I prefer daytrading if I have high conviction is a $10,000 position, I’m willing to lose 100 bucks aka 1% before trailing stoploss sells the position for me, but in the case of Nvidia today that was an easy over 4% gain, I couldn’t see that 7% rise, but a few days ago it popped 10%, so if you’re having a good day, you could make $1000, that has happened to me before. if I see too much volatility, I will sometimes cancel my stop loss,
I try to keep an eye on the runners, even though I love stocks like Amazon and Google, but they don’t move, I like stuff that moves, namely I’m always checking on nvda AMD, and Tesla, sometimes something can happen in Enph, but stuff like that is much harder to catch, because it’s unpredictable. I would never dare trade Penny stocks or pharmaceuticals, etc., so the position size has to be big in order to make meaningful profit,.
if I see something going on in Google, for example, I would be willing to daytrade with a $20,000 position or more, because the stock moves really slowly and it’s a very good stock, so that there isn’t much risk and also I can get out quickly with minimal damage if something goes wrong.

Alright. Game time. Anybody expecting a sell off of Nvidia before the 28th? I'm thinking it's gonna reach 121-125.

I wouldn’t take a google trade today. I’d like to see either a massive capitulation, 66% of all stocks moving up on the day, or some news etc. I think Google is a very good dca here at this price. Should be a $220 stock, and will be.

are you asking "what is the process of liquidating my account?" - force BTC your contracts, force sale of assets in your account to cover margin.
or are you stating, "they can't liquidate me because I have covered calls" - ooohh yes, they can
