The movie was enjoyable overall, though I found the black android to be rather pointless—seemingly included just for the sake of diversity. Aside from that, the story was engaging. The main character, a woman "Rain", is shown working on a mining planet with the android as her assistant. Her friends then invite her to explore an abandoned Weyland spaceship to collect some leftover items and find a way to travel to a new planet, as they need fuel.

To power their ship, they board a Romulan ship to retrieve energy cells, but removing these cells causes the frozen facehuggers on board to thaw and start attacking everyone. One facehugger implants an embryo in one of the visitors, leading to the birth of an alien. Other aliens who were already present on the ship also begin attacking the crew, leaving only the main character, the android, and a pregnant woman alive.

The pregnant woman is given a vaccine derived from alien origins, with the assurance that it brought a dead mouse to life . However, in a later scene, it’s revealed that the mouse died due to alien transformation caused by the vaccine. The pregnant woman, named Kay, is then shown in a cryo chamber. We hear her screaming, and the main character, Rain, rushes to her chamber to find Kay giving birth to a human-alien hybrid. The hybrid kills Kay and attempts to kill Rain, but she manages to use the hybrid's acidic blood to break through the ship's fuselage, jumps back to the main ship, saves the android, and heads toward the new planet.

so the movie was good... a 7/10... but that android was totaly fukcing useless.. its just for the sake of shuving a dindu for the sake of it

I like the Alien franchise but I feel it's been explored thoroughly. What surprise can the movie offer that people have not already seen or experienced nomsayin?

Thx for the review, i've got a soft spot for the Alien cinematic universe so i'll definitely torrent it later. Home theatre crew checking in!!!!

Quick question: Have you seen the trailer for Romulus? Is it safe to watch or does it spoil major plot points? I normally skip trailers but if it's confirmed safe i'll watch it.

If you're a dedicated alien fan like I am, you'll probably have a sense of what's going on and what might happen to everyone. But if you've read my review, the trailer won't reveal anything beyond what i've already discussed.

I gave it a 5.8/10

50% female crew. 75% ethnic crew.

No scary or thrilling moments.

"Action" was chit. Almost nonexistant.

Ending was horrendous. Also the lighting was so dark and the way it was shot was almost impossible to tell what was happening at the end.

The trailers basically made it look like a coca cola advert with every diversity metric thrown in.
