It can apparently be spread 2 ways -

There is zero evidence it is transmitted via water, toilet seats-the old AIDS rumour etc. You are only catching it if you are gay barebacking & doing it with somebody from Africa, or somebody who has caught it from an African or another barebacker that has been there. You are likely to catch it if you are hunting animals in Africa, skinning them & especially consuming them raw, or engaging in bestiality there.

It is practically impossible for one human to transmit MPox to another human-unless they are analing each other without protection, yeah you might catch it off shared bedding like Scabies. But the only reason guys are sharing bedding is if they are gay.

The strangest thing happened to me the other day. I went to my normal weekend bar and saw a bunch of the usual suspects. This is on the outskirts of town and, I’ll be honest, it’s mostly white dudes at this bar. We were all sitting around, drinking, shootin the ****, and the subject of Monkeypox came up.

Now, don’t get me wrong, most of these dudes have been hardcore homophobes their whole lives, but something was different that day.

We started talking about Monkeypox and whether is was a disease for only gay people. I mean, all my friends have said it's only a gay disease, and sometimes that can be scary. But, “heck,” I said at one point, “I don’t much care about whether its a disease for Gay or Straight or whatever, I just care about what it takes to avoid having those little sores all over my skin so I can stay working to keep gas in my truck and food on my table for my family.” I got a lot of silent head nods in agreement. And then Bubba, the biggest meathead there, stood up and said “I reckon we could stop calling it a gay disease and take credit for spreading it ourselves as well.”

There’s a bit of a stir in the air right now. You can tell the winds of change are blowing.
