A cute trick I’ve been using a few times:

1- Sell a low Delta weekly covered call (I’m using MSTR here), volatility is so huge on that stock that you will make 1% per week or 56% annualized return on a very far out of the money call,

2- around Wednesday or Thursday that low Delta call currently around $150 or $155 strike price or so will be down to several dollars, but it can pump dramatically all the way to $500 by Friday noon like last week if btc keeps pumping, so in a different brokerage purchase precisely that call, You will pay some $10 or $20 or whatever, and you should be prepared to lose that money which is the most likely outcome, but if bitcoin keeps pumping that call can very quickly go to $500 by Friday noon or earlier, as it did last week, then get rid of it obviously.

So in a way, you are hedging your covered call, but you can also use your familiarity with the stock as well as your covered call as the indicator or a kind of barometer, as your covered call starts to look like you may get assigned and it’s going in the money that gives you a very clear picture of the lotto call.

And of course you would only do this if around Wednesday, Thursday or Friday there is a major pump in the stock. I’d also do the buying of the lotto call only at lunch time since that’s when day traders go to lunch and close their positions, you’ll get a better price. Around 10-11 am NY time. To further enhance your chances try to deal with calls that have the most open interest and the most Volume, as they sometimes act as a bit of a magnet.

Ah, then you should know the answer before you made your post, with perfect timing everyone who has bought puts on the stock that has gone up today has miraculously closed their put positions just in time to take 900% profit before the puts tanked, and they switched to calls which are now up 17,000%

But in all seriousness, this is how financial YouTubers operate, all of them without exception, another thing they do, which I love, is when they make some kind of a wrong prediction it just miraculously disappears into the ether, And it is never mentioned again, lol

I'm still holding PLTR puts, you have not proven me wrong yet and If I had nearer term options than I do then I would have sold them for a huge gain already but I didn't buy near term options lol.

I mentioned when I lost on ASTS and I have no fear of you or anyone/anything that would make me afraid to show up anywhere lol.

I worry about you still and I want you to succeed but you make it difficult <3.

I used to watch Jeremey financial education on YouTube then he was wrong, like WAAAYYY wrong on tattoo chef and Walgreens like I wouldn’t be surprised if he lost 30% or more of his net worth. His thing was he expected TTCF to behave like monster energy (how he made his millions) . Since then I don’t listen to any stock pickers on YouTube.

You should always put all responsibility on yourself, no matter how strong or well-informed another person's opinion is because you will be the one taking the losses lol.

I actually just bought puts on SOFI after Rob alerted me, I think it can move to ~$8.70(wtf is up with $8.70, WBA, SOFI and RILY all had targets there lol) or higher.

I think I said this before but most of you guys are not going to make it, if you not a real misca that's OK, just go long.

a lot of historical data just didn't pan out 2023 and 2024 so I don't pay too much attention to it anymore. Interesting to look at but that's it.

having said that, if one were to believe a red month ahead, the best strategy would be to sell NTM calls for a 5% premium, maybe 5% upside strike for a total potential gain of 10% for the month. Take a month long vacation and come back to 5% realized gains. Premium is gonna vary depending on what you own of course. The point is, coming up with a strategy to reduce your downside but give you upside if it doesn't pan out the way you expect.

if I was forced to buy the dip on a tanking stock like that, I would wait for the 200 EMA and the price of the stock to meet on the daily chart, because this is when algos are programmed to identify the stock as having bottomed out, and they will begin to buy, that is if they begin to buy at all lol

I’m not forced to keep going I could cut my losses and call it if I wanted to hence the dilemma. My plan was catch a short squeeze but unfortunately it seems as though some shorts have already covered as the borrow went from 80% interest down below 60%. There is a metric fukton of OI on puts too that are still expensive but I’m unfortunately not knowledgeable enough to know how that will calculate into this situation other than perhaps it is comparable to the gamma ramp when there are a ton of calls going ITM and options force share buying? So instead perhaps we are seeing share sales as MM prepare to accept shares? Either way I’ll reassess Tuesday and decide if I want more exposure to the chance there is good news on the horizon for a deal and a potential short squeeze. The other side of course is that the deal with oak tree falls through and their quarterly earnings are disgustingly bad as they continue writing down assets and taking steep losses.

On the flip side Oil, Payo, and Sofi are all trending nicely. If I could get fnma/Fmcc to join in on moving up that would be nice too.
