Getting tired of owning a cell phone

If you have a cell phone people feel entitled to your attention. always expecting prompt responses and you to answer the phone (because they know its always on you), etc.

Especially true if you work from home

both calls and texts

Just respond/pick up when you feel like. Esp if work calls/texts before/after work hours, no pay no obligation. That's how I see it.

When I was working you really had no choice but to have a cell on you at all times . We had several Apps that were necessary to use etc , plus communication with other field techs .
I’m not working atm , but still feel a need to carry it. It’s funny how we were fine without them though , and now we’re dependent

I hate smartphones and the constant connectivity we have, but sadly it's basically a necessity these days.

This. I respond to people whenever I want, and people expect that from me. Calls are a bit different since it hijacks your phone's entire screen. Slowly start informing people to leave a text. Get back to it whenever you feel.

I feel that way too. Now I keep my phone on do not disturb most of the day. A handful of people are on my favorites so I’ll get their messages regardless but most people I ignore until I feel like it lmao.
