I like florida's approach better where you pay 0 income tax on your homestead. makes it more affordable for actual homeowners and less affordable for rent seekers

but i think both things are good for our communities

I remember when the democrats were the party of the working class, that was way back in the 20'th century. They went full pro-corporate when Obama took over the party and Biden was basically the biggest corporate stooge to ever sit in the white house. Now all they represent is big billionaires.

Do you look at property taxes like the government owns the house? I heard an interesting argument that you own the house, but the property taxes pay for the municipal services, schools etc and technically you're getting a service for your money?
Also mirin cheap 4500/yr property taxes

Yeah I honestly have no problem with reasonable property taxes. Income tax is by far more oppressive.

Income taxes are stupid, goverment dips into your pocket for your labor, then dips in again with sales tax when you buy chit

Nov. 1 and Feb. 1 are so fucking annoying.
In my area they're due May 20th and Dec. 20th. I remember years ago as a kid my dad complaining about his xmas gift was to write a check for XXXX amount of money in property taxes. I'm like you're joking right?

One of the benefits of living in the midwest, the houses on either side of me sold for $250,000 and with my remodel redone I think I'd best that number, so yes $4500 for a 2100sqft home isn't bad compared to some areas. The majority of the money goes to the public school system which my kid goes to private school, so I pay twice for school.
