I NEED to get back into remote work in 2026 boyos
Being on PTO this past week has been a massive eye opener for me. I feel like the weight of the world has been lifted off my shoulders and my true personality has once again surfaced. I'm not a broken, hopeless, lost soul. I feel confident, capable and recharged. However the thought of going back to the cage on Monday morning is making me feel physically ill (ded fkin srs). This will forever be my detriment unless I escape. While FIRE is out of reach and retirement is still 36 years away, I've decided that it is imperative that I get back into remote work SOMEHOW.
So I plugged my resume into ChatGPT and it basically told me I'm getting fucked by my company. Earning $55k/yr for what I do in 2026 is apparently almost unheard of lmao. It suggested my current responsibilities should translate to at least a $70-80k salary in SaaS, compliance, fintech or insurance. Even without a degree. Nothing that will solve my crisis of purpose, but if I can earn a significantly higher wage without being chained to a cubicle, then begin investing and ultimately purchase property, I'll be starting off my 30s in a great position.
Dunno where to begin, but I'm about to clean up my resume and start searching again.
Pray for me brahs. I still haven't given up yet. We're all gonna make it.

Just apply to every remote job available and see if you can milk working 3 of them at the same time.
All my buddies that do remote work do like 5hrs of actual work/week max
Also ChatGPT will say w.e. it thinks you wanna hear

AI is definitely to be taken with a grain of salt and I feel like I'm in a race against the clock to an extent. The information tracks though. Unfortunately, most of these support roles will be eliminated by automation/AI within the next decade. I feel like I need to earn A LOT of money quickly so I can pivot to real estate and at least have some assets. I anticipate society looking and functioning very differently sooner than later. Shit makes me uneasy mane.

Nah been reading ur posts for years now. You’ll probably find an offer or two but reject it for some garbage excuse reason. Then right back onto the misc to whine whine whine whine and drink some more whine. It’s over for u. Not that I care tbh, I like reading ur whiney posts. People suffering in their cubicles makes me chuckle real hard for some reason

I've worked from home for the last 4 years, and my salary tripled. No more getting up at 6am to drive to work and sit in traffic there and back, wasting gas money, wearing tires out, needing oil changes. Going to an office is cool when everybody is in there 20s to early 30s. After that yeah that's enough of that.

K-shaped recovery since covid, so essentially you have to earn money now and throw it into assets. Stock market all time highs after all time highs and on the other hand I hear people are Klarna-ing chipotle. Seems like we're already at the beginning of the end mane.Originally Posted By WZBrah1⏩

FIRE will be tough until I get my income up. I like the concept though.

That’s why I say look into leanfire it’s basically just fire but with a minimalistic lifestyle a lot of the retards on fire think they need to be a multi millionaire to retire. I plan on retiring very young by living a incredibly minimalistic lifestyleOriginally Posted By Basedbabyy⏩

If you can find remote work do it. Start looking every day on Indeed, Glassdoor, and LinkedIn.
Revamp your resume, use Chatgpt.
It might take you awhile or you might find something next week. Just don't get your hopes up like crazy

You should be asking more than $80k. Id start at $90k. Worse case, you take $80k and job hop or you over employ.
$55k is poverty.
