The thought of going back to work tomorrow makes me want to cry (semi-srs)

I've been out of the office since New Years on PTO. Life has been so fucking good brahs. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end.

Tomorrow it's back to the wagie cage for me. Another 5 days fighting traffic, mindlessly typing up spreadsheets, listening to a bunch of phony phaggots and sloots giggling, gossiping and going on and on about dumb shit I don't give a fuck about. Plus more pointless meetings, passive-aggressive corporate jargon, low quality lunches and energy expended on unfulfilling nonsense. Just an all around worthless existence. My reality will once again become misery.

Worst of all, my company doesn't offer another holiday off until fucking MEMORIAL DAY.

I don't literally feel like crying, but I have that pit in my stomach and that lump sensation in my throat. My body is not ready.

I've been upgrading my resume all weekend and searching job boards for remote opportunities. Hopefully 2026 will be a year of major growth/partial escape. I can't keep living like this :(

Fuark man you need to look into new employment there’s nothing worse than having a job you genuinely dread going to. I recently got away from a job I hated and I’m so much happier I only halfway hate my new job.

I work for a few years, then take about a year and a half off and live on savings and sometimes credit, then just bankrupt it all. I've been doing this for about three decades now.

I'm going to bail on my current job soon.

This is the first week since about mid December where I'm expecting to do some real work. Also have surgery on Thursday, so that should make things interesting.

If all goes well in the next 10 or so days, I'll be a happy camper.
