is it a good idea to open a doughnut shop

in a major city, next to business hub,train station,school,college etc?

selling doughnuts,coffee and tea ? what you brahs think ?

A scoop of coffee grounds is literally 1 trillionith of a penny cost wise, makes a pot with 8 servings of coffee, and sells for like 3 bucks per serving. The mark up is insane so I've always thought selling coffee is a god investment.

The major draw back is you're going to have screwed work schedule compared to most people. I think the donut shops in my town open around 4:30-5:30 in the morning, I'm not sure how long it takes to start prepping to make the donuts but I bet they're at work quite a bit earlier than that. One donut shop in town use to open at midnight and stay open until like 1pm, and I believe most of them are open 7 days a week.

This Vitenamese family used to operate the Bakery in my hometown, then sold it to someone else. They just opened another Bakery in my city about 20 miles away with alll of the same recipes, and this place absolutely fucking kills it. Obviously top quality doughnuts, which is the important part.

I'd imagine this place averages like 1000 doughnuts every day at $1.75-2 per doughnut, and it's in a little shop that can't be more than like $2500-3000 per month in rent. Ownership probably takes home $400k every year after all expenses paid.

Basically, get a good product and be in a cheap space in a good location, and you will kill it.

Obviously if you open a franchise you won't make any money. But if you have good proven recipes and enough startup capital, it's a foolproof business plan. People fucking love doughnuts.

i sleep at 8.30/9 pm and wake up at 4/4:30 ... but ym idea is doing everything on the spot... not prepare before hand l;ike ill have the coffee beans ready , and ill have the milk doughnut ready on the side

I knew an Arab guy who did this. He was a small time professional photographer probably making like $20k a year, then decided to open a coffee shop next to some corporate offices downtown. Dude was driving a BMW living in a McMansion by the time I met him. So it can pay off.

Yes. I own a cafe and a food truck. People underestimate the amount of work it takes to run even a mall kiosk. And they overestimate how much money they'll make as well.

It's not the same business as a restaurant or a food truck. There's nothing cooked to order here. Someone walks in, gets their doughnuts and leaves. You only need one employee running the place once the doughnuts are made for the day.

Doughnuts are totally oversaturated where I live. The latest thing is those boutique cookie places.

Honestly, because people think muffins are healthy, I'd start up a boutique muffin place catering to commuters. It's basically donuts but you can sell them in the morning with coffee no problem, and all you have to do is have like a matcha grain muffin and people will pay $4 for it.

You have to be elite to join the FFL. It's not all traitors and scumbags. They don't just take random guys off the street.

It's funny cause muffins a lot of times have significantly more calories than donuts. One donut generally has about 200 calories, whereas muffins have like 450-500 calories.

Muffins are just marketing cake as a breakfast food. Someone really smart came up with that idea.
