Have you experienced going from Bluray to 4K ?

Can you noticed a difference from 1080p to 4K ?

maybe if you have a monster screen, 100"

not sure. i have a 65" and mostly watch 720p unless its pure action then i get the 1080 version to save space on the 5tb externals

How do you view 720p ? A DVD is at 480p.
Bluray is at 1080p.

I was watching Van Helsing 4K in my room. I put the Bluray version in the living room. I can legit see a difference in quality tbh.

If it's 4K bluray the soundtrack will generally be better too - unless you're a phaggot who uses TV speakers or worse, a soundbar

the copies i get are encoded from either a blu-ray of 4k source. so software re-encodes it. 720p is for people that don't care so much about the best quality (it's still excellent) and want to save a ton of disk space.

A very noticeable improvement from 1080 to 4K. . The colours were definitely much more saturated and had better dynamic range on my 4K blue ray movies compared to 1080 .
Regardless of them most likely being potentially upscaled , I still notice an improvement.
On an Oled it’s noticeable, but maybe with conventional lcd panels it looks the same.

As for 4K streaming versus 4K bluray , I’ll take a physical format over streaming 4K any day , as with streaming it’s obviously compressed and the bluray 4K will be superior.
Even the audio is probably better on bluray 4K discs

To answer your question: On a small screen it's almost indistinguishable, on a large screen the 4k will probably seem a bit better

I just download 1080p blue ray rips they're usually 2-3gb

If it's a classic that I intend to keep and rewatch I might download a higher bit rate 5-8gb file

One day when I build my home theater then maybe I'll care about 4k

Can definitely tell a difference 1080 Blu-ray vs streaming and 1080 Blu-Bay vs 4k Blu-ray.

The most noticeable thing though is the audio. Streaming compresses audio so much it's like watching a completely different movie compared to Blu-ray. If you have a decent home theater setup you're doing yourself a massive disservice watching streaming services.
