Wanted (2008) is an underrated movie with many layers
I really love the satire of other action movies with the over-the-top ridiculous violence but there is also symbolism.
Even the name of the movie is a play on words, it's a movie about a geeky loser's fantasy, when he joins the fraternity he gets everything he ever "Wanted".
His dad is named "Cross" and he crosses the fraternity. The first person he kills is "Mr X" by standing on an X. Also Mr X, Wesley's fake dad, has a similar name to Cross. (An X is a cross rotated 45 degrees).
Trains play a big part in the movie and every major plot point has a train running through it. The train is like a giant loom of fate running through Wesley's life.
