Have you ever eaten Beef Wellington?

I always thought it looked overrated. I mean who wants their beef wrapped in a fucking pastry? But I've been watching some Gordon Ramsay videos and now I'm more intrigued. Never had the privilege to try it yet but...

Any brahs ever eat this dish before? Is it worth seeking out?

Never tried and I have no desire to. I've had prime rib a bunch of times and it was very underwhelming.

Roasting is a bad way to cook beef IMO and is a waste of those cuts. Filet Mignon and ribeye is much better as grilled steaks.

It's pretty tasty. My mom makes it for Christmas most years and we all enjoy it. I think yorkshire pudding might top it though. I followed this Alton Brown video and made a standing rib roast that was out of this world. I didn't have beef tallow and swapped for butter, but it was still amazing.

I've had it, don't care for it, I don't really like mushrooms.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

I’ve only tried it once and it was at Gordon Ramsey’s restaurant in Vegas and it was pretty whatever. The mashed peas were disgusting.

I think I’m just used to way better food than the Avg person

Love it

On a side note, beef tenderloin is used in it - I've been eating that once a week at home; sear with butter or beef tallow about 30 or 40 seconds in a screaming hot pan on all sides, let it rest for a few minutes then hook in. Cooked perfect blue and soft as fuck. Magnificent.

I wouldn't make it at home, but would like to try in rest. Not that rare though. The cow in OP's pic is probably still breathing.

I had yorkshire pudding a couple of weeks ago and wasn't impressed. Then again, it was on a Malaysian rig so it might not have been a good representative.
