I’m always fearful of this. I sold a 12.9 iPad pro on kijiji , and the buyer agreed to meet at DQ . The guy ended up being pretty cool and I lol’d when I found out he lives less than a block from my house . I thought what are the odds .

If I sell something on FB marketplace, NEVER, EVER, sell from your home.

I ALWAYS meet at the local supermarket, or police station, or somewhere VEYR public.


First rule of selling shit.

And always check out their profile first. I will avoid selling to some people if their profile looks shady or they are TOO foreign scammy, you know the unmentionable type, trying to lowball scam you.

I have so much old shit at my house I need to sell – unused brake pads/other car parts, furniture, video games, etc. but I’ve just been sitting on them because I don’t want to get robbed. I’ve already been robbed at gunpoint before (srs). No interest in ever going through that shit again.

I've had several gift cards I've been trying to sell to stores that are not close by me or that I flat out don't shop at. It has been the biggest pain in the ass. So many people saying "Im interested" and then asking so many questions about the card unnecessarily. And then the people trying to scam me by asking for pictures of the card on the back so they can then get the number and use it.

This fucker tried to be as genuine as hell and I even gave him my address to pick it up. He then paying me by paypal is easier, and he would be more comfortable getting the card number then he would pay me. He showed me his I.d., his LinkedIn, explaining how he's a father of 3, etc. I almost did but something felt wrong about it. I then thankfully googled him:

i sold a pool table for 700 dollars and you can tell when the profile is fake or the person is sketchy. They always want to take the convo off the messenger or say they can't do cash and attempt the cashapp scam. Anything i've ever sold on the market place has been cash only.. it was two tradies who picked the pool table up from the shop
