LOL so many NPCs out today with football jerseys

There were even some with those small flags of "their" team on their cars

They'll probably be yelling "woooo!" and clapping like circus seals when "their" team makes a big play, as NPCs do

And yelling with anger at the TV if they make a bad play as if they're the coach

Tomorrow at the office they'll be asking each other if they watched the game and rehashing some of the plays

So much time and emotional investment in something that's so meaningless

I mean does anyone care who was in the playoffs just last year or a few years ago when there was just as much emotional investment?

Feels smug being above all that

Smugness really intensifies when someone asks me about "the game" and I condescendingly say with a patronizing tone that I don't follow the modern version of bread & circus
