Starting to worry that my nephew could turn out like Godfrd. (Srs)

He's ten years old and already lying to his buddies in a desperate attempt to impress them.. If I listen in on his convos, he'll drop at least one lie every time. He's even made up a fake girlfriend to talk about. Tells his pals about her constantly. To me, the most concerning part is that, like Godfrd, my nephew has very high social needs, but low social appeal. He's husky, unathletic, zero sense of humor....my biggest fear is that once he's inevitably ostracized by his peers, he'll end up wasting his life seeking out validation on some stinky internet forum like Reddit. All while getting fatter and more miserable every day.

How can I turn this around, fellas? Is there any hope? Understand, this isn't a joke and certainly not intended to slur Godfrd in any way.

I've bought him and his younger brother packs of Pokemon cards here and there over the past few years. I saw his collection recently, the guy has no holos at all. Zero. No reverse holos either. I asked what happened to them, he said he gave them all away. Gave them to his buddies. Because they wanted them.

What do I do with that?

I don't know how to effectively remedy the situation. I've tried to get his weight down, but he barely eats at my place anyway. And he plays outside all the time. Eats like shit at home.

He has no competitive spirit though. None. He plays basketball & soccer with his friends and he just drags his feet while the other kids are all in. I suspect he fears upsetting his competitors so he lets them win easily. It's painful to watch. I've tried to teach him right, but he tends to disregard any kind of behavioral correction like that. He believes he has it all already figured out.

I'm clueless on this, partner.

I'm not trying to take a shot at Godfrd. I have no beef with him. He's simply the most appropriate example for this discussion. If my nephew was showing signs of developing a personality similar to Kormo, I would've used him as an example. And I like Kormo. It's just for the sake of the topic at hand. No beef on my end.

That MS paint you made for the "extending the olive branch to godfrd" thread was funny. You should post it again if you still have it. I feel like people like your nephew and Godfrd are fundamentally broken though. Some people are just wrong headed and see things in a completely deluded incorrect way.

It makes no sense logically to act like them if you think about it because they spend all that effort on lying. If they instead spent that effort on bettering themselves, then they wouldn't have to lie.
