Probably the solution will end up being ending it but giving amnesty by way of an easy path to citizenship to those already here under those circumstances if they qualify.

We didnt enslave anyone. All the slaves in america were made slaves by africans
It's a little like saying that because someone didn't make the illegal porn or fentanyl that they get a pass for buying and consuming it.

And all Senator Jacob Howard had to do was be more fookin' specific with the actual language of the amendment and things could have turned out a little different. It's hilarious that he goes on to queef about how it will remove all doubt as to what persons are or are not citizens when here we are examining it again.
I don't think the US is capable of making such a drastic change at this point, and if they try, guaranteed the government will fuck it up far worse than we can even imagine.

For anybody that wants the gist instead of reading through all the legal jargon.
4 Things To Know About SCOTUS Case That Could End Birthright Citizenship
https://www.zerohedge.com/political/4-things-know-about-scotus-case-could-end-birthright-citizenship
This is what will happen:
Kagan, Sotomayer, Jackson, Roberts, Barrett and Gorsuch strike Trump down
Dissenters will be Thomas, Alito, and Kavanaugh
Gorsuch could go with the dissenters, but it won't matter. Roberts and Barrett are for sure going with the liberals.

Trump will loose this- but it's because he's using an EO
The question will be is the Supreme Court going to acknowledge that Congress can actually do this and the 14th application isn't what people think it is.
If the Supreme Court goes that way in - then the ball is in Congresses court (right now Congress perceives it isn't)
I think it will 5-4 or 6-3
Trump loosing his eo is almost a certain- but the congressional ability for this is what's crucial for the case- and while bringing it, this way was important.
This will make a congressional move plausible- where right now it's impossible.
The Supreme Court could also just flat out strike it down because it's an EO over congressional statute and not even mention anything about the 14th.

Which is frankly the main objective strategical for this case- acknowledgment it can be done without an amendment.
Congress never would have done this solo-

Interpretation of the 14th is exactly what this will be about the not if Trump's EO can stand (my prediction)
Quick question- why don't diplomat kids born here get US citizenship?

Again - Trump won't win this case
, but that's not the main objective here.
The main objective here is to get the interpretation from Supreme Court to enable congress to pass statue.
The eo was needed to generate the case

If congress acted we could then get actual clarity of the law and what the amendment actually applies to, because it was done the right way, instead of with the ineffectual and gay EO stuff.
No, I think it's a long shot to near impossible but I think it would be great to clarify what the law actually is and what the amendment actually applies to.

The underlying reality seems to be that no one but Trump wanted this.
