Yeah I've noticed that how ever since SNAP stopped paying for some foods, those prices and availability has gone way up. Welfare bums mad because they and their kids are sugar addicts probably flipping out.

Are they actually doing this? I don't really eat snacks so I'm not aware. Really dumb if they are doing that though. Cost of producing the snacks is dirt cheap so not much money is being saved and they're probably in the net negative once word gets out and they have lower sales.

That being said, I can definitely see something like that happening even though it's really dumb. Even if it loses money in the long term, it could make more money in the short term and the CEO gets a bigger bonus and gives a big middle finger to the shareholders.

Imagine thinking that creating a situation where most people are now too poor to afford Doritos is a win.

But I agree that junk food should not be subsidized by welfare benefits. So that's a good public policy.
