OHP or lateral raises?

If you could only do one, which one would you choose? I'm quite torn tbh, but leaning towards OHP. I'm kind of skeptical of lateral raises for some reason

Lateral raises and its now even close.
I know i can get my front delts sore from chest exercises. But your side delts will not be hit meaningfully by just ohp.
It would just lead to front delt overpowering the rest of the delts

No comparison between the 2 for power/mass... OHP is obvious. The light "pumpers" may not agree, but then they dont know much about anything..

No need to get personal.
I can 1 rm almost 200 pounds on ohp (natty) and ive consistently done it for years.
It just does not hit the side delts like lateral raises do.
Its not physically possible.
If you have the option to do either only ohp, or
High incline bench and lateral raises. Youd be silly to go with ohp only

OHP just because I like it more. If I gotta pick a lift, I'm picking based on what I like doing and thats it.

Not enough medial delt stimulation. If you perform them correctly lateral raises are the shit.

In a hypothetical scenario where you could only do either lateral raises or OHP then OHP for sure. Otherwise if you're already doing a lot of flat and incline pressing then the marginal benefit of OHP over lateral raises is a lot less so which one you go with is mostly a personal preference thing.

I do both, but OHP does way more work for your shoulders. I would choose that one.

OHP, even if you're concerned about lateral delt engagement, various studies show that the press ranges from just as good for lateral engagement or slightly better. Even if you ignore the comparisons between OHP and lateral raises, the OHP still engages the lateral delt more than lateral raises engage anterior delts
