Can a woman be a feminist and still wear makeup?
I kinda LOL at the feminist on Reddit arguing amongst themselves about the use of makeup.
A lot of the women want their cake and eat it too...saying they only do makeup for themselves and to look better for themselves....yet mentally their idea of "looking better" is just chasing internalized patriarchal beauty standards unless they are goth or something.
Some women will argue that within the patriarchy they are at a disadvantage if they don't wear makeup (they feel people treat them as invisible) even though they think it shouldn't be a standard....so they will use makeup to their advantage...promotions, raises, etc.
So can (they'll be sure to add you can't tell a woman what to do) a woman wear makeup while being a feminist?

Here is how every Eddie Haskell thread goes:
1) Eddie posts his opinion, thinly disguised as a question.
2) Other people respond to the question
3) Eddie ignores their responses except in the most superficial of ways and engages in a one-way "conversation" spouting his uninformed takes on the world for multiple pages.

I think this topic hits a lot of women in a divisive way to their psyche...the constructs that make 99% of what they do with makeup appealing were engrained in their minds by the patriarchy. Essentially highlighting things that make them more sexually appealing to men. Many of the feminist would like to reject being subjugated by the patriarchy but they just can't accept losing the advantages makeup provides them.
