Our ladies grabbed gold and silver in the 20 km. Good start. Inb4 Norway and the US has 50 medals each.

Unfortunately our men's cross country skiing has been shit for some time. Grew up seeing them getting all kinds of medals. Gunde Svan etc. Remember seeing some show where he had the highest lung capacity ever seen or whatever. Now it's the ladies turn I guess.

Swedes ,Finland, its either in the blood or they start real early far as xcountry

Altitude maybe?

Just tradition, no altitude or stuff like that. Same with ice hockey I guess - small population and probably low number of overall players - but very good organisation and coaching in hundreds of small local clubs and ppl in them (family, coaches etc) just helping for free without any monetary incentive - just local pride etc.

I don't follow closely, but assume they all have the same places they go. Just some generational things I guess. Norway dominated for a long time, before that was our men's team. Next is someone else. I'm no expert, just see what you do.

Just look at how different middle and long distance track has gotten the last couple of years. Africans, often living at high altitude etc, were seen as unbeatable. Then recently we got so many with euro backgrounds/americans getting top spots and and world records. An american just broke a 30 yr old 800 m indoor world record - previously held by a danish kenyan (for 30 yrs) Then you have Ingelbriktsen. Then even a Swede got a bronze last season (frenchman won) in the 10K, breaking records and beating out all the Kenyans. Times are a changing.

Crazy chicks - took all the medals in the sprint. Too bad our men suck atm. Svahn's dad is a legend himself with six olympic medals in the x-country. Looks like there is a curling battle later on between sweden and the u.s. in the mixed finals, lol.
