Wasn't this dude regularly fucking his red best friend lol? Links don't work for me for some reason maybe because i just joined, but google "bert and ernie are indeed a gay couple", theres a news story where the original creator talks about how they are officially gay. The berstare as a meme was funny when used right, but that's all i saw bert as, a berstare meme, not worthy of a mascot.
