The rating system-

Is 1 star better than no stars or is 1 star like leaving a penny as a tip?

1 star is worse than no stars I would say. Zero stars means that ppl are indifferent and have no real feelings about the thread negative or otherwise. A 1 star means that someone actively dislikes the thread and is making their displeasure known!
