Losing ur house after getting divorced gotta be the worst feeling.

As a rentcel, it never quite registered how cucked that would feel.

You save up years for a sizable downpayment to buy your biggest investment of ur life. Then u spent years, if not decades, making payments that take a large chunk out of ur check.

But it’s not only the financial aspect of it. It’s about taking pride in your biggest asset. Im more of a nomadic type so holding and protecting ground isnt of high importance to me. But there are men who would literally die to protect their little suburban house against intruders. Yet all it takes is for ur wife to cheat and start a fight then play victim and now it’s gone.

You set up a business entity and that buys the property. You are nothing more than the director of said entity. All assets purchased by said entity are tax deductible, as are all repairs and maintenance and, as the value increases, you can claim depreciation on the asset and save even more on the tax bill.

When my dad got separated he kicked his wife out and made her go live with her mom.

They’re not divorced yet so I guess in theory she could come after the house, which would be fucked up because he bought it 15 years before they met.

I used to read the MGTOW message boards back 10-15 years ago and this was a huge problem. These guys were in sexless marriages as it is, then their harpy wives would shit test them into oblivion, then when the guys got mad and yelled or slapped them, they would file for divorce and act like the victim and take everything.

I know some guys are abusive and deserve all that, but most of them just wanted a peacfule life and loving respectful wife.

Hopefully true. The lawyer told him due to the amount of time she lived there he might be SOL. I guess it just depends on the judge you get. This is in NY so state laws might vary.

I owned my house outright before marriage so I was only on the hook for 1/2 the appreciation of the property over the 5 year marriage. I suggested we use the tax values on the house (severely under valued) to determine the increase in value. The house went up around 15k over the time I was married so I had to pay her $7,500, I'm thankful I'm not a mortgagecel or I would have had to pay her half of what I paid off over the 5 years too.
