California has spent $135 billion so far on a rail system to San Fran to San Deigo
And not a single track has been laid or train has been made.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong made a rail system which spans their whole country for 10 billion dollars.
Personally rode it, nice, clean, air-conditioned. I know they've made expansions to it over the years so the costs are probably higher than 10 billion as of right now.
