Why does Mario get so much hate?

Seems like a decent guy. I may not agree with him on everything, but he's clearly not the kind of fella to mindlessly follow the herd. Certainly an independent thinker. And those types of folks are always cool by me. Maybe I'm not aware of everything, I tend to avoid Misc drama, but Mario seems to attract an inordinate amount of hate for incredibly benign posts. And I know he gets called a homosexual a lot, but he doesn't seem at all gay to me. His threads are not really indicative of homosexuality.

So why all the the hate, boys? Explain it to me. Are many of you just piling on because you see other posters crapping on him? Aware me ...
