Modern car seat laws are insane

Most of us are childless

Either long time players or incels

But I'f you haven't known child car seat laws are nuts these days

Some states require all children under 80 pounds and under 8 years old to be in car seats

That is fucking retaded. Imagine rolling up to 3rd grade in a car seat

I don't remember ever wearing one pretty much after I could walk. Probably 3ish years old max. All preschool no.carnseat

This gen alpha coming up are going to be major pussies

Agreed, OP. My state has no weight or height maximum, just age. My nephew has always been both tall and husky for his age. A few years back, he'd sit in his car seat at 7 years old, and his feet would be touching the floor. It looked ridiculous.

One state said kids 4'9 and under

I briefly dated and smashes a 4'8'' woman in the past. Would she need a child seat? She was fully grown 25;year old

These kids are going to grow up to be pussies. Can you imagine if a kid rolled up to your elementary school in a car seat he would get his ass kicked. Now the 3rd graders are treated like babies

The main problem is with all the mounting points etc it basically renders the car useless for driving adults around in

Also you can’t get Ubers or whatever if the kids are with you

That's what reminded me someone new to my area was asking if they had Uber with child seats and reminded me now that every normal size kid needs a child seat

That's fucking retarded. All of preschool I never used a child seat now they can't even go in a uber or cab wtf

This is kind of funny as I personally have never had kids but I ran into this situation a few years ago . These girls , twins , were 9 years old and apparently legally they had to sit on booster seats or be 80 pounds I believe.
Anyways one of the twins was having no part of it so I lifted her up and said oh ya you’re 85 pounds , no worries lol . (Pretty sure she was less )
I think maybe it’s to make sure the seat belt rides high enough up on their torso , dunno . But srs it seems stupid imo

Laws really aren't consistent from state to state on this and the guidelines aren't even clear because the reality is that once kids get to a certain age, all that matters is they stay in a booster seat until they are tall enough that the shoulder belt won't decapitate them in an accident. This even varies by vehicle. So it comes down to common sense, which unfortunately many people lack so you get dumb laws instead.
