Yes. Spanberger of Virginia and Mamdani have both used the old bait and switch by running on affordability and now proposing sweeping tax increases which affect everyone. The democrats have always take their constituents as fools. Many of them are.

The republicans need to seize on this because this is the perfect subject for their platform.

As of early 2025, former New York City Mayor Eric Adams has consistently warned that the influx of migrants and asylum-seekers could "bankrupt" the city, predicting that the crisis would "destroy" New York. 

The city projected spending over $4 billion over two years, with roughly $5.2 billion spent in fiscal years 2023 and 2024, and an additional $4.5 billion budgeted for FY 2025.

In late 2023, Adams stated at a town hall meeting that "this issue will destroy New York City".

Due to the costs, Adams implemented budget cuts to city services, including libraries and pre-kindergarten. The administration has highlighted the strain on city resources, with over 200,000 migrants passing through the city and 35,000+ housed in emergency shelters as of early 2025.Shifting Strategy: 

By early 2025, migrant arrivals slowed, leading the city to shut down major emergency, high-cost, hotel-based shelters. Mamdani just ran on the guise of affordability, while knowing it was not possible. He was one of the first to run and implement the new democrat strategy of bait and switch. As of right now, Mamdani is holding all New Yorkers hostage by threatening Hochul with a 9.5% increase in property taxes if she will not allow taxing the millionaires and billionaires. Either way is not popular, at all. With Bernie by his side during campaigning, New Yorkers should have known Bernie and Mamdani were lying socialists. Bernie just wanted a socialist in office at any cost, but like Bernie's history, it never lives up to the lies.

Even if he were to get all of those proposals, which he won't because he doesn't have the power or support to do so, but even if he did, he wouldn't be able to fulfill most of his promises because it doesn't add up.
