In these situations there's no point in arguing, decline the field sobriety, get the breathalyzer or blood test, sue the officer directly as well as the city after the charges are dropped.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

I have no idea why you yanks are so fkn backwards in this shit srs. Why do you do those fkn field sob tests still? And when I say still, I mean for the past 40 years+
For as long as I can remember, Police in Australia just use a breathalyser on the spot, in more recent years, they do the saliva drug tests as well.
I dont like it one bit tbh, but it makes more sense than what I just saw that poor man go through in front of his kids.

Small boat, they had no idea he had the money he did or they wouldn't have done that.
What can be scary is that lets say you do blow 0.00 the cop will say you are on something else, and if you get a blood test showing you have nothing in your system, often the judge will say that because you failed the sobriety test at the officer's judgement you are still guilty and they will offer you a plea deal of some kind, but it's hard to get off completely.
He got the law changed instead of resisting arrest getting tazed or shot. Worked better didn't it.
One reason cops get away with a lot is because most people don't complain. The one's that do complain are usually the actual criminals trying to deflect their own wrong doing.

Boat cops are notoriously corrupt, like those speed trap cops always pulling people over for the pettiest reasons. All they care about is collecting fines no matter what it takes.

They don't have to even prove what substance youre on, they just claim you failed the subjective field sobriety test and when you blow 0.0 and pass the blood test then they claim it was the alcohol and weed they smelled as probable cause but that you clearly were on an undetectable and unprovable research chemical that made you fail their subjective field sobriety test
And the sheriff is an elected official aka politician who has every incentive to pump up the DUI numbers for his re-election campaign
