Are there any practical uses for avocado seeds other than growing avocado bushes?

They're so dense and heavy. Seems like there should be other uses for them, right? Feel bad about just throwing them out. What else can I do with them, fellas? And why is the seed sometimes small even in a big avocado? I don't get it.

Avocado seeds can be used in various ways, such as grinding them into powder for smoothies, making a natural dye, or even growing an avocado plant. You can also use them in homemade facial masks or as an ingredient in sauces.

In Nigeria, avocado seed extracts are used to manage high blood pressure (4Trusted Source). The seeds are considered to be under-utilized, and early research suggests that they may have some health benefits.Below are some potential ways in which avocado seed may benefit your health:Cholesterol: Avocado seed flour has been shown to reduce total cholesterol and “bad” LDL cholesterol in mice (5Trusted Source). Diabetes: It may reduce blood sugar levels in diabetic rats. One animal study showed that it was as effective as an anti-diabetic medication (7Trusted Source, 8). Blood pressure: Animal studies suggest that avocado seed extracts may help relax blood vessels, which helps to reduce blood pressure, a key risk factor for heart disease (9Trusted Source, 10Trusted Source). Antioxidant: Test-tube studies on avocado seed extracts have shown that the avocado seed may have strong antioxidant properties (2, 11Trusted Source). Antibacterial: One test-tube study found that it stopped the growth of Clostridium sporogenes, a spore-forming bacteria (12Trusted Source). Antifungal: Avocado seed has inhibited fungal growth in test-tube studies. In particular, it can inhibit Candida albicans, a yeast that often causes problems in the gut (13Trusted Source, 14Trusted Source
