It's all apart of the process for the US to make the move "legally". I'm sorry, but no way do we move that much equipment to the region for chits and giggles or just as a show of force. It's obvious it's more than show. The only way for Iran not to get attacked is if they basically just surrender, and we know they won't do that.

Iran's strategy isn't like what the indians on social media say where they think they can actually beat the US, but Iran's strategy is to outlast and cause so much disruption it's not worth it to us. Smart strategy on Iran's part, but do they really have the means to even do that? Sure, they can sit back and proxy, but direct will be another story.

Another interesting speculation is they will not wait for us to go all in but instead they will just come out swinging with all they have because they know they have a small window before we knock out all communcations and ability for them to launch attacks. If they strike first, it's an ugly game too because the more damage they do, the more of a call to war and even a lot of people in our government saying they wont support it, if a lot of our people are killed, they will look like traitors if they aren't for it. I remember after 9-11, Cynthia McKinny was the only one that voted against military action and basically she was destroyed politically and financially after that.

Republicans are going to get wiped out in the midterms and Trump will be impeached so they're going to try to get this in now. They've essentially given up on legislation and any constitutional government and he will rule basically from the executive as long as he's there

He's not actually running in 2028 and local elections aren't scewed much by things like this. Also, it all depends how it goes. Becomes a big long drawn out mess, sure it's going to be held against him, but if he's able to damage the Iranian government, they collapse and the people take over, sanctions are dropped, China/Russia's only ally is no longer on the table, it could be YUGE for him. If it's more of the same where there is an exchange and then an agreement, people will forget by Summer, let alone election day.
