I mean, it depends on your goals.

The reason I went on TRT is because I was training hard as fuck while also trying to get a lot accomplished in my job. And between those two things, it just wasn't happening at age 39. So I went on TRT, and now can make things work.

However, if I were retired or something, I could probably stay in decent shape and just recover when I'm not going anything outside of the gym.

It all depends on your goals. Most people who hop on are retards who don't have their health in order first. Maximize your health, diet, bloodwork first before ever considering it. This is why so many “fitness influencers” are dying, they're all retards blasting drugs with no regard to health. (Super Der fkn Srs)

Does that include cardio? What kind of program are you running that has you in the gym for 2 hrs?

Im already pretty advanced as a natural been lifting hard for about 8-9 years but physique is not very good. Im very tall and have very long arms also.
The only reason I haven’t already started taking test is because my natural levels have been pretty high when tested

I dont lift too much anymore and im advanced size. I usually do upperbody, legs and then rest for 3 days.
So its not such a investment in time.
The real trouble is the consistent diet. On testosterone that doesnt change as much as youd think. Couple hundred cals, srs.
I got hella fat on T when i was 19 thinking i could eat all i want.

I think youre not making gains because you either try to maintain low bodyfat, or you overtraining.
Maybe both.

I made the best gains as a natty by getting fat as shit and having 4 rest days.
That gym 6 days a week push pull legs crap. Forget about it.

If you have something better to be doing, then I’d do that.

If you enjoy it and you’re challenging yourself, doesnt sound like a bad thing dude!

Couple hundred cals? May be worth it just for that

This part is so true. Your strength on compound movements goes up when you're in a caloric surplus. Having 4 rest days a week and going hard on the few days that you're training is what will get you the best results. It's not about the time you spend in the gym. It's about the intensity. If you go hard on free weight compound movements you won't need to do a shit load of volume to compensate for training like a pussy.

Eat 400cal above daily total energy expenditure

You need roughly 2500 clean calories in excess of TDEE to gain up to a pound of muscle a week

You will not achieve this if you are not prioritising rest and recovery though - take things to failure; max five movements per bodypart depending on how big it is (e.g. 5 for back, 2-3 for chest, 2 for delts, 2 for bis, 3 for tris, 2 for calves, 2 for quads, 2 for hams has worked very well recently for me)

As a natty, less volume and more intensity is the absolute key. More lifting does not equal more size.

Yea it pretty much maxes out around year 2 (if you’re actually lifting with intensity and purpose). Everything after that is very small gains or just trying to maintain what you have. I’m making small improvements in terms of mobility and strength. I’m probably training more like a wellness competitor these days. Really working on my ass srs

Yeah that’s been my experience plus if I just take test only that’s not really unhealthy is it?
