If you have a barn/shed put Thompsons water seal on the bottom

so it dont rot out. here is a photo of during rain the contrast thompsons vs no treatment. I only did the bottom 2 foot because of back splash from rain falling off the roof really rots out the bottom of barns. wouldn't hurt to do the whole thing but if ur going for cheap and a natural wood look, this does it

a barn made out of chainsaw milled lumber, was about being cost effective so I never put siding on it

more redneck hillabilly tips coming soon

I rebuilt my shed that termites had gotten to prior to me owning the house. For the minimal extra cost in materials I used treated lumber and then used vinyl siding.

i built that shed for 300 bucks CDN shingles and nails and gas is all i bought, spent about 3 days cutting down/milling the lumber, another 2-3 days to build it. a shed that size around here goes for 4-5k

recommendation.

use pressure treated lumber.

if you aren't then buy water seal or whatever, but my bet is pressure treated last far longer than this+water seal.

guessing you're trolling? pressure treated would do far better for this scenario (wet, outdoors, needs water seal)
