If you could go back and change one thing about your past, then return to the present

You meet a time traveler from thousands of years in the future. She is a college student studying the effects of time travel. She needs to help you go back and change one aspect of your past, then return you to the present. Her existence will not be compromised by this experiment. Others have done this successfully, so it isn’t theoretical.

You will have memories of both the original timeline and the new one after the change was made, and the change is guaranteed not to kill you.

What would you change about your past?

I’m thinking of making a comic book about a drug addict in prison who meets a time traveler who lets him go back and re-live his life from the time when he first started using drugs. His last name is Mulligan.

Sounds good then that prisoner has kids, but they never talk to him ever again. He has a tattoo about them.

The obvious play for most of us would be to give our earlier selves financial advice. Setting that aside, I'd go back and give my overweight, lazy 12-yo self the tools to get in shape 10+ years sooner.

If I changed the thing I want to change my kids wouldn’t exist anymore.
I would be too worried about that happening with any change.
If I didn’t have kids I’d probably change never starting to drink but would it just be that one time and then I drink later? I guess when I go back in time do I live knowing that I changed something- ? You’d still have to live out that life time for that change to take affect?

If we could switch it to me not remembering the original timeline I would probably do the $$ thing. Somehow make myself rich but if I don’t change the addiction somehow that money is going to be a problem lol

The thing I'd change is not selling the first house ex and I bought. It was a townhouse in an amazing neighborhood, perfect size with a fenced back yard.

Obviously to buy bitcoin and not sell the majority of it until 2025 - easily be a multi-billionnaire

It is kind of sad knowing there's a few people I probably wouldn't ever cross paths with that I care about now in life but I'd also meet other people on whatever other path buying bitcoin would open up.=
