Marry within your own tax bracket

Actors generally only hang out with other actors. They marry other actors. They're both wealthy. I think in MOST cases, this makes the marriages and divorces better for them. Actresses aren't marrying for money. Athletes marrying 403s they met in the club ALWAYS works out bad. It's playing into their hands. Meeting and marrying rich was their plan. Tom Brady married an already wealthy model and they stayed married for 14 years.

No thanks, I'd rather be alone than with some "boss bitch" who is in my tax bracket

100% agree. It's fine to marry a chick who makes good money, but that's not the reason you're marrying her. This is why marrying a teacher or nurse was a good play in the past, but ever since these professions were infiltrated by woke loser types it's a much tougher move.

My wife is in a higher tax bracket than I am. And since all her income is from capital gains we file separately.

My 12 & 14 year old kids are in a higher tax bracket than me but only by 3%

Together 19 years, married for 15

You should want a woman who makes money and is aligned on financial strategy - but you are too busy pining for a "trad wife" to notice all the beautiful, smart, driven women on this planet.

A woman who makes money does not automatically disregard her matronly instincts when paychecks roll in.

Feels good to not have the stress of mortgage or college for the kids because you already took care of it.

I'm guessing you're like 45? Gen X women are a completely different animal than Gen Z and younger milennial girls. Unless they got married under age 25, those girls have had all of the motherly instincts beaten out of them.

I am reading this article right now.

https://slate.com/life/2026/03/college-wedding-yale-columbia-marriage-mit.html

Arielle Kuperberg, a demographer and sociologist at the University of Maryland, handles a data set of more than 14,000 undergraduates across 44 colleges, including elite universities. She’s found a 33 percent increase in the number of people who are married in college since 2019. Kuperberg says my generation is more religious and socially conservative than our parents, so of course we’re marrying earlier. “We’re definitely going to see this trend increasing,” she says.
