How bad are these "layoffs" actually?

We been hearing about these so called layoffs since covid.

"Companies cutting costs"
"Remote work will reduce many jobs and a lot will go overseas"
"Post-covid layoffs once companies found out most workers were useless"
"Nobody works anymore and everyone maxed out their credit cards"
"Bidenomics"
"Trumpflation"
"AI will replace all jobs"

Yet you go outside and everyone still drives their 100k cars, stores are full, and everyone just pays their 50%+ inflation on groceries.

Where is this so-called economic depression?

The theory that we live in a simulation makes sense more and more. What you see out in the world completely contrasts with logic. People not working but somehow driving around all day shopping and eating out. Traffic on the roads all day. There is no way they're all real people. It's like the population of every city and town somehow doubled overnight

As a mechanic, I don't know what the hell you are talking about. What are layoffs? We need people who are smarter than a brick, but that's not easy to find. Nobody wants to get their hands dirty. Sure, it's not glamourous but the reality is that most "white collar" jobs aren't really white collar. You're not making business decisions then you aren't white collar.

Rly just like u said it doesnt matter what time I go out there are so many grown adults just lounging around in pajamas/active wear. Economy and inflation is supposedly bad but they dont seem to be struggling to spend money on discretionary stuff. Return to office was being heavily reinforced in my city and many of us thought these adults would disappear back to work but nothing seems to have changed. Doesnt seem to matter whether its a rich, middle class, or poor neighborhood, I see these types everywhere.

Idk that's been said for years now. Supposedly the car market was supposed to collapse and yet I still see hella cars outside.
