Is it true that many people are struggling financially?

I keep seeing online how a large percentage of the population is struggling but then i go out and it doesn't seem that way at all.

Yah no doubt they are they just keep using credit cards to fund some fake lifestyle. People on misc are also millionaire 6”4 chads so it doesn’t really seem like an issue on here

I think the lowest 20% of Americans are struggling hard right now. However, for most people they are doing just fine.

Like I made a thread about... I went to Taco Bell on Friday, and every person working the drive thru looked like they lived on Skid Row and were all heavily on drugs. My guess is that those people are all one step away from homelessness, and have been struggling hard for a couple years now.

yea i think most ppl are fine. Like they will complain about prices just to complain but it doesnt rly matter to them

The people you see when you go “out” are by definition the ones with disposable income to be doing things like eating at restaurants, shopping etc

IMO even with inflation you can still live frugally especially at the grocery store, we shop sales and the grocery bill for our family of 4 (3.5 year old and 11 month old)is like $650 a month and that includes diapers. I regularly see single people saying they spend like $800 plus on groceries just on themselves monthly and it’s mind blowing, the only conclusion is they have no idea how to shop and probably buy expensive pre-made chit.

The real issue is how insane the cost of housing is, groceries are still manageable

I find a lot of ppl are actually clueless asf on how to frugally shop. It’s like the price tag doesnt even exist to them. They see a bunch of eggs and just assume they are the same price

The working class wagies at 40-50K per year need to be able to have their rent or house payment be 1 weeks take home pay, and their car payment 10% of their monthly take home. That's the only way the numbers can work for them to avoid going into perpetiual debt and default and bad credit and lawsuits.

Rent usually comes in at half their take home and a car payment is another weeks pay. That leaves them one weeks take home pay for everything else.

They are completely hosed since property managment and car dealers charge much more than the wagies can afford.

That's why whenever they tell all their creditrs to fuk off and decalre chpater 7 BK, I am happy for them. More wagies need to do that.

Yeah don’t get me wrong inflation definitely made groceries go up since covid, but if you plan your cooking around sales, you can still make dinners for the week for real cheap. People have gotta be buying expensive pre-made stuff at the grocery store for their bills to be as high as they’re saying.
