1971 Cuda Convertible for sale

My dream car srs , especially if it had a 426 Hemi ,but srs I’d be fine with a 440 four speed stick car .

This looks like a lot of work tbh , but they’ll take 55K for it

I miss Graveyard Carz. That was a good show and I always wanted one of his restorations. Tv today sucks.

They want $55kUSD for a demolished 340? That's insane. I understand it's a rare paint code + convertible, but it's not even a hemi and could you even find the vin plates on that thing?

It's because they made so few 71 Cuda convertibles. Even for the show Nash Bridges back in the late 90's when muscle cars were still cheap they had to use 70 Cuba convertibles modified to look like a 71 because the 71's have always been so rare and expensive.

That car is basically a complete restoration project for someone with either a ton of money or their own shop. Like the type of thing where they just needed enough original car so they can register it as a real 71 but it's basically going to be entirely rebuilt. It's worth it on a car like that because they are worth a ton of money as a running driving car. That's the nice thing about cars being that valuable, they are always worth fixing up.

I know what it is. That's why I said could you even find the vin plates on that thing? Cuz that is what you need for a complete resto. If you can't find those, it ain't worth it.

Yeah the entire point of this would being able to register it as an authentic 71 Cuda, if you can't do that it's just scrap metal.

It's a 1 of 2 paint code convertible, which is really rare, but you'd end up sourcing mostly reproduction parts, reproduction body panels, etc. It's not gonna have the numbers matching motor and trans.

The Shelby community has a guy named Bob Perkins who is an SAAC judge and has a warehouse of NOS and used genuine parts, and unless you can find someone in the Mopar community who has a stash of Cuda parts like that, I don't see the value in restoring a car made up of reproduction parts. It could never do well at a concours event, therefore, never command the same price as something close to a survivor, with mostly original or time period correct parts.

Your easily spending 400+ hours in labor on a car when you can spend less and not have a car that was a total loss. its retarded

There was one in Queensland a few years ago with a new 426 Hemi crate engine but the owner wanted $299k for it. He was setting up for a drag racing conversion then his wife divorced him so he had to offload it. Electric purple colour - stunning, even though it wasn't a numbers matched engine and bespoke paint.

Yeah, I don't think I'll ever buy an auto again; had paddle shifters in the last two Mercedes which were kinda fun but BMW EV with nothing was trash. If I can't get a new Mustang stick shift I'll just hold onto mine and keep working it over.
