It's his fault for getting a 110lbs sloot as a spotter when ur lifting heavy. She tried her best and ended up just sliding the bar onto his throat suffocating him, feel more bad for her srs

Never seen a workout go from a bench press to an attempted pr deadlift in a matter of seconds until tonight.

I just view men and women as a different species at this point. Comparing a cat and a dog is a moot point. Also a dog isn't lesser than the cat or vise versa, they're just different in their own ways.

Wow. Where do you even begin with this?
1. Benching without safety arms at the appropriate height. I swear gyms with standalones benches that don't have safety arms are so povvo. Just go to a power or half rack for bench if you don't have a combo rack.
2. Clips on the bar. You should NEVER use clips on barbell bench. It just takes away a potential bailing option (shedding the plates in this case) should you fail a rep. If you need clips to keep the plates from sliding off during a rep then you have some serious left-right imbalances in strength because with standard equipment it's actually takes conscious effort to slide the plates off one side. It doesn't just happen with minor imbalances in strength.
3. Spotter doesn't know how to spot. She pulled the bar straight back without any upward movement, turning his bench press into a skull crusher lmao.
4. She should've gotten into a stronger spotting position. In this case she should've had her legs spread over his face to have better leverages for pulling.

the only thing that matters is that the spotter can lift that shit off u when u fail a lift and can't do the "roll". She had no chance of helping him

But if you fail completely and can't press at all, even a really strong dude probably won't be able to help you get the bar back onto the rack. The leverages for pulling are terrible when you're standing behind someone benching. That's why you take a staggered stance and grab the bar with an over-under grip to give yourself the best chance of helping should you need to step in. But none of that matters if the lifter has lost all pressing strength.

I think it's important for spotters to know that in a situation where a lifter is pinned by the bar, the easiest way to help them out is to rip the plates off one end. Even a one-plate differential is enough to make it easy to tilt the bar to one side and free the person being pinned down.

All the people who bench with clips have zero survival instinct. First time i benched i thought abt using the clips and immediately had a visual of this death scenario and forget about them. Have not considered using clips since.
