I walked close to 7 miles today

I had an appointment to get my blood drawn, and the clinic is three and a half miles from my place. I walked most of the way there, then a Mexican guy gave me a ride the rest of the way. On the way back, I walked the total distance. On MyFitnessPal I documented 120 minutes of walking.

I’m in better shape than when I did this in February 2025, I wasn’t completely wiped out this time.

I bought two Bomb burritos at the gas station halfway between my place and the clinic, and ate one after my appointment, and the other after I got home.

If two hours are walking knocks you out good lord...... Do you have any preexisting medical conditions?

I’m just old, fat and out of shape. I’m 55 years old, and over the last 11 months I’ve become more active. I weighed 300 pounds in April 2025, and now I’m around 280. I walk a lot for exercise, and lift weights

Mirin. I used to walk everywhere when I was younger. It's great exercise and keeps you in shape. When I moved to the burbs and started driving every day I pretty quickly noticed my endurance dropped even without gaining weight. Lifestyle is everything mane.

People underestimate just how much deconditioning happens through lifestyle. Even if you're relatively young, not walking and gaining a little bit of weight over a period of a year or two drastically cuts down on your cardiovascular fitness. When I first started getting back in shape, I thought I had some sort of health condition for why I was out of breath going ul stairs orr having leg pain after walking. But turns out it was just out of shape

what shoes you wear makes a real different for walking. if they don't have much bounce or cushion it is a hell of a lot harder, especially if you are a bloatlord

2hrs walking at 280 is really good.

you should keep it up and limit carbs, weight will fall off

I’ve been using MyFitnessPal and I noticed that my carbohydrates were too high, so I adjusted them down and increased my protein intake

Seems like walking that much before/after getting your blood drawn is probably a bad idea. And who knows the impact it had on whatever you’re getting tested

I had two huge bottles of water, my goal was to hydrate as much as possible so they could find a vein more easily. At the clinic they have a water machine that I can use to fill up my water bottle

I walked 40 minutes before breakfast this morning, I wasn’t sore like I was in previous years when I walked to the clinic. I must be in better shape!

that is a solid routine to get into. walking when insulin and glycogen stores are lower after sleeping. body has a higher chance to tap into fat.
