iunno if this is yellow journalism crap or if she really is in a bad way. She is in the hospital though.

I just looked her up, and it sounds like her disease has progressed to progressive MS, which doesn't have the same treatment options. It sounds like she either had a very fast progressing version or may have not taken her treatment serious enough and she progressed to the next stage, which doesn't have the same options for treatment.

It's kind of like HIV and AIDS. If you can keep your diseased in the HIV stage, you'll never really have major issues. But as soon as HIV progresses to AIDS, you're basically fucked.
