instagram switching to webp images

they still av some jpg but there showing up more webp they prob making switch all the way some point. reddit did same thing. fuck reddit and instagram for this

It's because your browser accepts the webp images. I know if I want to save an image on reddit I have to open it in a new tab and replace the "preview" part with "i" then it opens up as jpg or png.
The browser I use does not have an option to turn off accepting webp. It's annoying.

With Chrome you can add an extension to save file as jpg. Haven't tried it, but keep us posted if you do.

You are right though...more and more sites are pushing the webp and many are not as easy to workaround.

What sucks is so many memes are uploaded to Reddit and IG and I can never get them to link to the misc. Even using BB code it will just turn into a blank post. Shit's annoying mane.
