That's exactly what it's for. And however someone one wants to describe multiple purposes, none of them are a necessary function of government.

They still have the white house dining room the seats over 100, and I think what they tore down would hold 200. Just how lavish and extravagant to these fuckers need to be to run the government?

The issue is mostly optics. Building a "ballroom" when the economy blows and you're telling everyone that everything is actually great and they're just too stupid to see it is electoral rope fuel.

Biden did the exact same thing and it did not end well for him, but for Trump it may even be worse because he's taking the Biden approach and building a ballroom on top of all that.

It is tax payer funded, but the idea is that the taxpayers decide what becomes of it through their representatives in congress.

To be fair to Lindsey, at least he's trying to follow a process even if we disagree that we need a dedicated ballroom where government employees and guests can "have a good time" without "putting the nation at risk". The fuck does that even mean.
